Cisco Linksys Wrt54gh Firmware Download
I spent a looong time on Cisco's Support website looking for firmware for the WRT54GH. When I click on the download tab - NO firmware or manuals are listed! The Problem: My router seems to not be broadcasting my SSID.

I can't find firmware upgrades for my wrt54gh router. I want to access my router's setup page via https, but the default configuration doesn't allow me access via https. Also because this is an old router, it is prone to a lot of security problems. Is the wrt54g firmware upgrade compatible with my router and will I.
I have re-booted it and still no joy. I've done a Factory Reset and manually re-entered all my settings - still no joy.
So I guess the next logical step is to re-flash the firmware - but I can't find any! When I try to log-in to 'Live Chat' no 'country list' is shown in the drop-down box - it's totally blank. The same goes for the field after (I forgot what its called) - just a blank drop-down box. These are mandatory fields so I'm stumped. Hence I'm here seeking the community's help.
I am in the process of doing a clean install of Windows 7 on a VGN-FW480J laptop. I am currently downloading all the Sony specific drivers from the SONY eSupport site. Again, my question is: Where can I find the firmware download for my router? I'll be most grateful if someone would post a link for me. Hey, thanks for the link troia. I already downloaded that very firmware and flashed it but the wireless is still not broadcasting its SSID. I also tried disabling and re-enabling the wireless from the router's interface.
Cisco Linksys Wrt54g Firmware Upgrade
Nothings works. I guess the wireless part of the router conked out since the ethernet LAN ports still work. I think I've troubleshooted it as much as I can. I have another router which I re-installed and it's working fine, so I'm not stressing myself out over it. Once again, thanks for 'reaching out'. Regards, Joe. Thanks viafan!
I did do a power cycle after flashing the router with the new firmware but I had actually forgotten about the 30-30-30 reset procedure. (Being out of practice, old age and alzhiemers must be catching up on me). Nevertheless, I decided to give the 30-30-30 reset a try - still no go. The funny thing is that when I first plugged it the router, for a short while (about 2 minutes maybe) the wireless was again broadcasting the SSID. Yay! I said, only to find that it disappeared again.
I'm almost certain now that the wiresless part of the router is flaky. I've seen others report (elsewhere) that failing electronic components like capacitors could cause that. So, back on the storage shelf it goes. Maybe some time I'll feel inclined to open it up and see if one of the components are faulty. However, I'm impressed and grateful to you and other members of the forum community who came to my aid so readily.
Kind regards.
