The RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course is a 2 day course providing the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the RYA International Certificate of Competence (I.C.C.). Whether you have no previous experience or would like to brush up your skills this is the course for you! RYA Powerboat Level 2 can be taken from the age of 12 and upwards. For those instructors who hold the RYA Safety Boat Course, you can also teach this at the discretion of the Principal of the RYA recognised centre, due to your experience.

At Ocean Sports Tuition we include a free ICC assessment which is the license required for European waters and guidance on applying for this. In addition to this, we are currently offering a free VHF course. on booking an RYA Powerboat level 2 course. Introduction to the course: The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is designed to give students an understanding of Power Boating under the guidance of an experienced RYA qualified instructor. This two day course focuses on developing your boat handling, safety and navigation skills. It is the perfect course for complete beginners that will prepare you to take out a powerboat by yourself as well as seasoned power boaters looking to consolidate their experience with the principles of the RYA scheme.

Do I need previous experience? No this course is suitable for all students. Students under 16 will have their certificates endorsed as follows: “To be under supervision of a responsible adult”. What will I Learn? The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course will teach you boat handling including – anchoring, securing to a mooring buoy, turning in confined spaces, coming alongside, man overboard techniques, knowledge of equipment, towing, high speed manoeuvres, rules of the road and pilotage and passage planning. Outline Course Itinerary: Your first day will begin with a full safety brief and introduction to the boat, our 6.8m rib craft boat, powered by a brand new 2018 2 litre Suzuki 200hp four stroke engine capable of 40 knots.

You will then have time to familiarise yourself with the boat’s controls and the river environment before we start practising different manoeuvres. This will all be done in and around local marinas, making it as real life as possible for when you decide to start boating solo. You will stop for lunch to cement your new found skills before we take back to the water for more slow speed manoeuvres. The second day will start with a theory session before departing down the river for more manoeuvring, lunch and the experience of taking in a sea lock! The second day will finish up with some high speed manoeuvres and man over board techniques before we depart back to Saxon Wharf for course debriefing and certificates. Powerboat Level 2 Powerboat training Mallorca This fun, challenging and very popular two-day course provides the skills and theory required for driving powerboats such as, open day-boats and any kind of sports boat up to 10m. We provide group-training sessions (maximum of 3) or we can provide one-to-one tailored tuition for you on your own boat. Our rib is a robust Avon Adventure 620 with 6 jockey seats and a powerful yet economical 4-stroke Suzuki 140hp outboard. We use Seadoo jetskis for our jetski courses, and these are available for daily rental to holders of a PWC certificate and/or ICC with PWC endorsement. The course comprises a theory component and lots of fun on the water practicing low-speed and close-quarters handling, man overboard recovery and an introduction to basic high-speed manoeuvers.
